Golden Sunrise Hotel

Are you planning a visit to the Golden Rock? This hotel in Kyaiktiyo is perfect!

The hotel is very nice, spacious and clean, just a few minutes walk from KinPun Camp and the truck stop to start your visit of the magnificent Golden Rock

Useful info, tricks and tips for traveling in Southeast Asia, country by country, step by step and visit by visit.

Tilly, the Belgian girl running the hotel, supports the youth development center of Seik Phu Taung in Khyaiktho, where over 700 orphaned children get a school education, and I found it an extra excellent reason to stay here.

The bungalows in a splendid tropical garden are basic but comfortable, and Myanmar is already an excellent point! Plus, the patio in front of the room was really relaxing and the family of geese strolling around a terrific company 🙂

The restaurant’s bamboo terrace is awe-inspiring. Excellent and inexpensive cuisine, and the guys who run it are kind, quick, and very helpful.

P.S. I suggest you bring earplugs for sleeping as the monks start reading mantras and prayers just in front of the entrance already before the sun rises…

Personal Note

Thanks to my previous job and often for pleasure, in the last seventeen years I spent almost more time in hotels than at home. Here are those I consider special places not to be missed. Those I truly hope to come back to again and again…

These posts have nothing to do with sponsorships.

These are just places where I stayed and that I loved and feel like have to be recommended to everybody.
