A few years back, I came across GPSmyCity, a remarkable travel app that has since become a personal favourite and one that I highly recommend. When planning my solo trips, I used to rely on guidebooks, blog posts, and travel articles for inspiration and tips.

Before GPSmyCity, I had to bookmark everything in advance, hunt for Wi-Fi to re-check details, and struggle to find directions.

Now, with this incredible travel app, GPS-guided travel articles provide embedded GPS coordinates within the mapped itinerary, making navigation a breeze. By downloading it, you can access thousands of self-guided walking tours, articles, and offline city maps in over 1,000 tourist destinations worldwide.

How do GPS-guided travel articles work?

So easy! Once you have the app on your smartphone, you can select the articles or city guides you need and read them offline for free.

This handy app includes thousands of self-guided walking tours and travel articles in 1,500+ cities worldwide. There is no need to hop on a tour bus or join a tour group; now, you can explore all the city attractions on your own, at your own pace, and at a cost that is only a fraction of what you would typically pay for a guided tour.

The app is designed to be used offline, so no data plan or internet connection is needed, and no roaming is required.

 GPSmyCity’s main free features

  • Thousands of self-guided walking tours show you what to see in the destination.
  • Thousands of travel articles make planning a trip easy.
  • Offline city maps.
  • The “FindMe” feature displays your exact location on the map.

Free upgrades from a selection of my posts

As a special offer starting tomorrow, September 9th, 2024, and running for the next two weeks until September 23rd, I am excited to offer free complete upgrades on select travel articles I’ve written, which GPSmyCity has featured in their directory.

To access the offer, simply click on the article you prefer in the list below. You’ll be prompted to download the app. Once you do so, you’ll be redirected to my post, and from there, you can upgrade for free to get the GPS-guided version.

  • Discovering Colonial Williamsburg, the world’s largest history museum town, offering its visitors a stunning and touching total immersion into 18th-century Virginia, was my biggest joy while travelling across the States.
  • Discover Brighton: London’s Seaside Gem, often dubbed “London-on-Sea” due to its property prices rather than its character, is brimming with originality and independent businesses, and I love it!
  • Discover the Timeless Charm of Cambridge,  a journey into one of Europe’s most venerable learning centres. Founded in 1284, its first college set the stage for centuries of academic excellence.

Well, this is a great new option for independent travellers preferring to visit cities at their own pace and without paying for guided or group tours. Try it, and then let me know; I’m always available if you need more info.

Enjoy your trip 😉
