I’m thrilled to share one of my most inspiring experiences recently—a delightful wine experience at Cà du Ferrà in Bonassola, a sommelier wine tasting with a fantastic vineyard tour. Having grown up here, I’ve known Davide and his family all my life. I’ve only recently had the pleasure of meeting Davide’s husband, Giuseppe, and I must say, I truly admire them as a couple. A few days ago, my fiancé Danilo and I were blessed by an amazingly sunny winter afternoon. The sky was a brilliant blue, and the views of the Ligurian coastline, expanding the horizon from the Tuscan islands to the Monviso peak in Piedmont and the French Riviera, were breathtaking—a perfect backdrop for a day dedicated to wine, delicious food, and heartfelt moments. As a female solo traveller who has always cherished authentic, soul-enriching experiences, I found this day to be nothing short of magical.
The wine experience at Cà du Ferrà
At Cà du Ferrà, every sip tells a story. The wine-tasting experience was meticulously crafted to cater to both the seasoned oenophile and those who are just beginning their journey into local wines. We sampled an exquisite selection of local wines, each reflecting the region’s unique terroir. Davide, Giuseppe, and one of their knowledgeable sommeliers were on hand, enriching our understanding of the intricate winemaking process and allowing us to fully appreciate the delicate nuances of flavour and aroma.
Davide and Giuseppe offer several vineyard tours and wine-tasting combinations (I enjoyed the Sommelier one, with one rosé, two whites, one red and one passito – a sweet wine made from dried grapes, sometimes loosely referred to as “straw wine” or “raisin wine”- all served with local products and treats), from a basic to a luxury one. I even decided to offer them to my guests at the Oasi Boutique Hotel in Levanto.
