One of the reasons that keeps me coming back so often in Chiang Rai is precisely the accommodation. This is where the Naga Hill is, a small and simple resort that I have since a very early stage chosen as home. Just like heaven!

On top of a hill, a few kilometers from the center, the Naga Hill consists of several charming bamboo bungalows scattered in a large lush garden, which hides the view and offers privacy. The Naga Hill offers three types of bungalows and stay after the stay I tried them all: the small one, however, remains my favorite because perched among the tree-tops and more intimate, though the bathroom is downstairs and so you have to go out and down the stairs every time.

The medium one open onto a private veranda and the bathroom is accessible from the inside.

The big one is much more luxurious. A suite with private outdoor seating area, inside sitting room and lifted up sleeping room. As in the medium,  there is a big bathtub and wall mosaics. Precious.

Waking up in the morning it’s always fabulous, with sunlight filtering through the cracks of the bamboo hut … a charm.

The saltwater pool overlooking the hill is lovely and essential to withstand the hot days in Thailand. The picturesque restaurant occupying the teak veranda beside the pool is also very cool. It offers a choice between common tables and chairs in pure western-style and low tables surrounded by comfortable cushions covered with bright fabrics. Needless to say that I usually have my spicy, delicious meal stretched on the cushions …

In short, no sore point or possible criticism. The Naga Hill is my refuge!

Personal Note

Thanks to my previous job and often for pleasure, I spent almost more time in hotels than at home in the last seventeen years. Here are those I consider special places not to be missed. Those I truly hope to come back to again and again…

These posts have nothing to do with sponsorships.

These are just places where I stayed and that I loved and felt like have to be recommended to everybody.
